How The Programme Works – Step By Step

Delivered online over 12 half-day Zoom sessions, the programme includes live tutor-led teaching, coaching practice and regular feedback.

You’ll be guided through a carefully designed blend of theory, reflective learning and practical experience, developing your skills and confidence as a supervisor over time.

Build your understanding of coaching supervision, what it is, how it differs from coaching, and what it requires of you as a supervisor.

You’ll explore reflective practice, ethics, boundaries and power dynamics, while beginning to develop awareness of your own style and presence.

Develop your practical approach to supervision through a range of models, tools and psychological perspectives.

You’ll explore contracting, values and repeating patterns, while learning how to structure supervision sessions and support coaches through reflection and challenge.

Apply your learning in more complex contexts, including group supervision and organisational settings.

You’ll work with themes such as diversity, unconscious bias and self-care, building the confidence to navigate real-world supervision with clarity.

Throughout the programme, you’ll take part in dedicated reflective practice sessions.

You’ll practise supervision, observe others, and receive feedback, alongside structured critical reflection to deepen your learning and bridge theory into practice.

Following the programme, you’ll have the opportunity to progress to a Postgraduate Certificate in Coaching Supervision with the University of Chester.

This provides a university-recognised qualification to further develop your practice and professional credibility.

  • A recognised qualification in coaching, coaching psychology or psychotherapy (e.g. ICF, EMCC, AoEC, AoC)

Am I ready to become a coach supervisor?

Are You Ready to Become a Supervisor?

Many coaches reach a point where their focus begins to shift, from working with clients, to reflecting more deeply on their own practice.

You may be ready for supervision training if:

  • You’re curious about what sits beneath your coaching work, not just what happens in the session
  • You find yourself reflecting more deeply on your practice, your decisions, and your impact
  • You’re interested in supporting other coaches’ development, not just your own clients
  • You’re noticing the importance of ethics, boundaries and self-awareness in your work
  • You feel ready to take a step from coaching into a more developmental, reflective role

If some of this resonates, supervision may be the next step in your development as a coach.
