This course is aimed at coaches who have completed the Barefoot PG Cert or another coaching qualification and who are looking to add supervision to their portfolio of services. It is particularly suitable for coaches in organisations who wish to use supervision skills to build and develop their organisation’s internal coaching capability.
In order to be an effective supervisor, a coach should have enough experience to be able to provide support and guidance to their supervisees. It is assumed that trainee supervisors will have gained some significant coaching experience and gone beyond their initial training, in order to be in a position to get the most from this training course and to be as effective as they can.
This course offers high level learning about a wide range of approaches to coaching supervision which will enable you to develop your own supervisory style. It will give you the ideas and skills to work as an expert supervisor to experienced coaches, working one-to-one or with groups of coaches. The course gives you 110 CCE points.
The course is delivered in four modules, spread across 16, 3 hour sessions on Zoom, with an interval of a month or so between modules.
You will work with expert tutors and guest speakers. The course is highly practical with live demonstrations and practice sessions and plenty of constructive and robust feedback. You will take away comprehensive materials including a wealth of coaching supervision tools and techniques.
An allocated personal tutor will support you in completing your written work and once you have registered with the University of Chester you will have access to the University’s on-line learning resources and other UK university libraries.
